Infrastructure

The school building boasts of four blocks of classrooms which can comfortably accommodate 3000 students. Each classroom is well lit, ventilated and properly equipped. Separate rooms are provided for co-curricular activities with large Music and Dance rooms that provide adequate space for children’s movement. The Dance room is fitted with large mirrors to enable the students to view themselves while practicing new steps whilst the music room is equipped with various instruments. The Art and Craft room, Science labs, Mathematics lab, Puja/Yoga rooms are also provided along with facilities for indoor games. A large area of campus is devoted to a multi-purpose playground where the younger students spend much of their free time in activities and companionship. There is 24-hour CCTV surveillance on campus, a Public Address (PA) system, and a 100% power and water back up. The Activity and the Story Telling Room give an early opportunity to the young child to ‘learn through doing’ using various kinds of educational apparatus, as well as to enjoy story telling and reading.

Location in Raipur

Just about 10 kms from the heart of Raipur and yet far enough from the chaos and clamour of city life, in an environment that includes young minds to be receptive to enlightenment; DPS is ensconced in the heart of nature, along the Vidhan Sabha Road. Set amidst a vast area of 15 acres, encompassing natural beauty and functional necessity, DPS Raipur blends with its environment like a butterfly amid beautiful flowers. Perfectly manicured lawns, an array of trees, a water body, provide an ideal surrounding to stimulate receptive minds and foster the pursuance of its environmental activities. 

Science Laboratories

There are separate laboratories for Chemistry, Physics and Biology. Large airy, fully equipped laboratories for students to work in groups or individually. Together they provide the ultimate possibilities for the student’s curiosity to be satisfied through exploration and experimentation while developing scientific thinking and temperament.

Computer Laboratory

The school has two well-furnished computer laboratories. Each laboratory is equipped with 40 networked PCs with Internet connection. Students enjoy demonstration of educational CD’s through PC’s and digital projector in the laboratory. Special care is taken regularly to guide the students for national level competitive examinations like National Cyber Olympiad, Inter School Digital Painting and National Digital Elocution Competition, & others.

Mathematics Laboratory

The concept of Mathematics Laboratory is yet another of our efforts to make learning more joyful and effective. The project seeks to introduce activity based pedagogy in the teaching of primary/middle levels Mathematics, promote inquiry learning by providing opportunities for children to learn from their experiences under the guidance of teachers, as well as through self initiated exploratory activities, developing skills of observation, generalization and structuring experiences.
Our Mathematics Laboratory is fitted with state-of-the-art furniture, up-to-date apparatus/equipment, sufficient in quantity for every child in a class of forty, to play and experiment individually. A system of seeing, doing, discovering and understanding leads to the process of self-learning.

Library

DPS Raipur has a massive, modern library equipped with large collection of books, approximately 7000, covering all the subjects & fields to satisfy requirements of the students. Video and Audio CDs are a part of the library which is continuously being replenished with latest books available in India and abroad. The open access system helps students to choose their book according to their interest. The latest technology like multimedia room and Internet zone help the students to keep themselves up to date with today’s world. The spacious library provides facility for individual research as well as group discussions. Students are encouraged to cultivate good reading habits and to use the Library as an important centre for learning.

Sick Bay

A clinic is located within the school block equipped with essential facilities and medicines for administering first aid. A qualified nurse is available in the clinic throughout the day. In case of a medical emergency beyond the convenience of the clinic, students are taken to its registered hospital. Medical Check-up is done regularly and then record is maintained. Parents are informed if the child needs special attention. Besides this, doctors from various reputed hospitals keep visiting the school for dental and ophthalmic check up of the students.

Transport

The school has a fleet of 25 buses, to commute students to and from their residences. In addition two other vehicles are always available for emergencies. The drivers and conductors have been carefully screened for maturity and responsibility and vast experience with school children. In addition ayahs and teachers also escort the students in the buses. The school provides safe and secure transport for students, with a communication system and supervised pick-up and dispersal.
